oreo popcorn in an white bowl on a light surface with a white and blue stripped linen

This recipe for Oreo popcorn is quick and simple to make. The sweet snack is sure to put a smile on your face. And it's a great dessert alternative for movie night.

oreo popcorn in an white bowl on a light surface with a white and blue stripped linen

This Oreo popcorn is so good, you will not be able to stop snacking on it. Seriously delicious. I love the flavor of salty popcorn with all the sweetness of white chocolate and Oreos. One of my new favorite snacks.

    Let's get to the recipe

    Ingredients

    • Popped Popcorn. I use two bags of popcorn. You need to make sure that you remove unpopped kernels so no one hurts their teeth while shoveling this Oreo popcorn down!  I like to use lightly salted popcorn as I find the salt helps balance out all of the sweetness from the white chocolate.
    • Good Quality White Chocolate. I use Callebaut white chocolate callets but you could use white chocolate chips. I find white chocolate chips are easier to seize up while melting so if using that I would add a teaspoon of coconut oil while melting them.  You could also use white chocolate candy melts or vanilla almond bark too.
    • Oreos. Finely crushed Oreos and larger broken-up pieces of Oreos.

Add-ins: Throwing in some marshmallows or peanuts would be great for another texture or drizzle on some peanut butter on top of the popcorn would be delicious too. I don't know about you but Oreos dipped in peanut butter is one of my favorites- such a good combo!

For ingredient quantities please reference the recipe card below. On the recipe card there is a button for US or M (Metric) measurements.

    Instructions

Pop your popcorn according to package instructions. Let it cool then remove all unpopped kernels, this is key! Place the popcorn into a very large bowl.

Melt your white chocolate by melting it at 50% power in the microwave in 15-second increments, stirring in between. OR create a makeshift bain-marie; in a small pot with a little water over low heat place, a heat-proof bowl on top making sure the bowl does not touch the water- the steam from the water will cook/melt the mixture. Stir frequently once it is almost fully melted take it off of the heat and stir it until fully melted.

Drizzle the melted white chocolate on top of the popcorn and use a spatula to gently toss to evenly coat the popcorn. Sprinkle on the finely crushed Oreo cookie crumbs and toss to combine then add in the larger pieces of Oreos and toss to combine. You want to do this all quickly so the Oreo can stick to the melted white chocolate.

Pour the popcorn onto two lined sheet pans, you can use a Silpat liner or parchment paper or wax paper, and spread it out in an even layer to cool and set.

Let set for 30 minutes - 1 hour, then enjoy. Best enjoyed the day of but leftovers can be stored for a day or two in an airtight container.

You'll end up with some chunks of popcorn and some more single pieces- let me tell you it is all addicting. The perfect bowl to snack on at a party! I hope you all love this Oreo Popcorn recipe. Don't miss my cake batter puppy chow!

This recipe for Oreo popcorn is quick and simple to make. The sweet crunchy snack is sure to put a smile on your face. And it's a great dessert alternative for movie night.

    • Total Time: 40 Minutes
    • Yield: 8-12 Servings 1x

    Ingredients

    Units Scale
    • 2 Bags Popcorn, popped
    • 9 oz (1 ½ Cup) Good Quality White Chocolate, melted
    • 15 Oreos Finely Crushed
    • 5 Oreos Broken into bigger chunks

    Instructions

    1. Pop your popcorn according to package instructions. Let it cool then remove all unpopped kernels, this is key! I do this by placing the popcorn on top of a wire rack for the kernels to fall through. Place the popcorn into a very large bowl.
