This recipe for Oreo popcorn is quick and simple to make. The sweet crunchy snack is sure to put a smile on your face. And it's a great dessert alternative for movie night.

  • Total Time: 40 Minutes
  • Yield: 8-12 Servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 Bags Popcorn, popped
  • 9 oz (1 1/2 Cup) Good Quality White Chocolate, melted
  • 15 Oreos Finely Crushed
  • 5 Oreos Broken into bigger chunks

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn according to package instructions. Let it cool then remove all unpopped kernels, this is key! I do this by placing the popcorn on top of a wire rack for the kernels to fall through. Place the popcorn into a very large bowl.
  2. Melt your white chocolate by melting it at 50% power in the microwave in 15-second increments, stirring in between. OR create a makeshift bain-marie; in a small pot with a little water over low heat place, a heat-proof bowl on top making sure the bowl does not touch the water- the steam from the water will cook/melt the mixture. Stir frequently once it is almost fully melted take it off of the heat and stir it until fully melted.
  3. Drizzle the melted white chocolate on top of the popcorn and toss to evenly coat the popcorn. Sprinkle on the finely crushed Oreo crumbs and toss to combine then add in the larger pieces of Oreos and toss to combine. You want to do this all quickly so the Oreo can stick to the melted white chocolate.
  4. Pour the popcorn onto two lined sheet pans and spread it out to cool and set. Let set for 30 minutes - 1 hour then enjoy. Best enjoyed the day of but leftovers can be stored for a day or two in an airtight container.

Notes

*If you want clumpier pieces increase the chocolate to two cups
