Here are some of the best baking tools every baker needs. I have ranked them in order of how frequently I reach for them in my kitchen.
If you are a baker or even if you are not a baker, you may not be one for this very reason; the quantities of each ingredient are vital to the recipe's success. If you measure using American-style cups then you can easily over or under measure because you are measuring by volume, and what one person stuffs into a small space versus another person does is totally different. That is why I only measure by weight using this scale.
The top piece of the scale is easily removable for easy cleaning, the screen can be moved in case you are using an extra-large bowl that would cover it, it's brightly lit, and super easy to switch between grams and ounces. Not to mention when you use the scale you end up having a lot fewer dishes to wash up!
Whether I am making whipped cream, shredding chicken, or making cookie dough I could not live without my stand mixer. Making whipped cream using a handheld whisk even if it is electric is so time-consuming! Turning the stand mixer on and walking away is glorious!!
This piece is timeless and invaluable to an avid baker.
Oftentimes individuals are scared of over or under baking items, using a digital read thermometer gives you an instant answer which helps you have many more successes in the kitchen. I use this thermometer when I make salted caramel, bake a cheesecake, check my pie is done, cook any protein; chicken, beef, fish,..etc,
I would have to say this is probably one of my top 5 used tools. I have 6 of them and I use them for cooking eggs for breakfast, mixing cookie dough, sauteeing green beans, and more, they are invaluable! And the small size gets in to all the small spaces.
I absolutely adore these bags, I have probably over 20. They are great for storing anything. I love that they don't have an additional piece of equipment to close the bag, you just seal it like a disposable plastic bag.
They come in all different sizes and they even have some stand up bags which are perfect for storing sauces or soups.
I easily own over 40 Fat Daddio's cake pans, they produce a perfect bake each and every time. I love the straight sides they produce which is perfect for stacking cake layers and the even heat they conduct ensures a great bake every time.
My cakes never stick with these and Bakers Joy non-stick baking spray!
These babies are used for all kinds of cooking and baking. My cookies never burn on these pans and they conduct the heat nice and evenly. No kitchen is complete without good sheet pans.
The original silicone baking mats are fantastic. Baking cookies is the obvious use for these but also spreading toffee out, using it as a mat to roll out pastry, or roasting veggies these are seriously loved in my kitchen.
The medium size cookie scoop is perfect for scooping cookie dough and for making even meatballs. Heck I use this for ice cream too! The little scraper makes it so easy for everything to come out of the scoop.
Also known as an offset spatula or a palette knife. I use my angled spatula for countless things in the kitchen. Whether I am spreading toffee out, icing a cake, adding a filling to a layer cake, or swirling frosting for a gorgeous rustic look.
If you use a kitchen aid stand mixer getting one of these attachments is a no-brainer. The scraper will continually scrape the bowl down helping your ingredients get evenly incorporated much easier.
These doubles as a hot pad for serving something straight from the oven AND you can also fold these so you can easily grab something hot out of the oven.
This is not an everyday item but if you like to make creme brulee or a toasted meringue then you can't go wrong! And this is such a fun kitchen toy to bring out at a dinner party!
One of the reasons I love bundt cakes is that they don't generally require a fancy frosting or decoration. The cake is gorgeous on it's own. This pan I find especially beautiful and the cake already has the perfect slice marks in the design so it makes it super easy to serve plenty of people with this cake pan!
I am an avid cheesecake baker and using a springform pan is key to making sure your cheesecake releases from the pan properly. I also use this pan for flourless chocolate cake.
Even if you don't make a ton of layer cakes you would be surprise how often this large spatula/ cake lifter comes in handy. I use it for removing cheesecakes from the bottom of a springform pan, I use it for moving lots of cookies at once, and of course I use it for moving cake layers. There is nothing worse than a fragile cake layer breaking in your hands.
Frosting cakes can be tricky and using a turntable makes it that much easier to frost them. The turntable also helps you stop nicking the cake with your fingers.
For sweet and savory tarts I love this tart tin, the bottom easy removes to make sure the gorgeous sides are shown. This tin is also made from my favorite pan maker Fat Daddio's. I've never had an issue with my tarts baking uneven or sticking to the pan.
I love using a glass pie dish so you can easily see the bottom of the crust is fully baked so there are no soggy bottoms!
To ensure your pies or pastries have a gorgeous golden brown sheen you will need to brush them with an egg wash. This brush is also perfect for brushing chicken with bbq sauce, mmm!!
There you have it some of my favorite kitchen tools!

I don't have 40 cake pans, but I've got almost everything else!

I know 40 cake pans is excessive -luckily a lot of them live within each other so storage isn't too crazy!! 🙂
