whisk mixing spices together in a glass bowl on a light brown surface

Learn how to make this easy spice blend in five minutes. Pumpkin pie spice is the perfect spice to flavor all your favorite fall cookies, cheesecakes, breads, pies, and more!!

pumpkin pie spice in a glass jar on a light brown surface

Every year I buy countless containers of pumpkin pie spice, this year I finally just made my own and now I wonder why I made special trips to the store just for this. This spice blend is made with spices I already keep on hand so it literally took me less than five minutes.

    Let's get to the recipe

    What is pumpkin pie spice

A simple spice blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice. The perfect fall-inspired flavoring for baking desserts like pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake or pumpkin muffins!

whisk mixing spices together in a glass bowl on a light brown surface

    Ingredients

For the spice mix you will need:

    • Ground Cinnamon
    • Ground Nutmeg
    • Ground Ginger
    • Ground Cloves
    • Ground Allspice

I like a heavy cinnamon flavor but feel free to reduce if that isn't your jam.

Some people like to add Cardamom, if so add 1 teaspoon to the mix,

    Instructions

All you have to do is whisk the spices together

Then store them in an air-tight container. This recipe makes two ounces worth of spice so it fits perfectly into a leftover spice jar.

I like to place the spics on a piece of parchment paper then fold the parchment paper to funnel the spices directly into the jar.

    Can you double

You can double, triple, half the recipe. Just use the same ratios, or adjust the ratios to your palette.
