Thai iced tea is a delectable drink made from black tea, spices, and sweetened condensed milk. This easy recipe for Thai iced tea from scratch will be your new favorite afternoon treat!

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 3 Servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 24oz (3 Cups) Filtered Water
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 3-4 Whole Cloves
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cardamom or 1 Cardamom Pod
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Black Tea Bags
  • 3-6oz Eagle Brand® Squeeze Sweetened Condensed Milk (2-4 tablespoons per serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot add the water, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and star anise. Let it come to a boil then turn off the heat and add the black tea bags and vanilla extract. Place a lid on top of the pot and let all the flavors steep for 30 minutes or up to two hours.
  2. Strain the tea through a sieve into a clean container and let it chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. When ready to serve to fill a tall glass with ice and pour the chilled tea up to 2/3rds of the glass. Squeeze in Eagle Brand® Squeeze Sweetened Condensed Milk, depending on how sweet you like I suggest starting with 1oz/ 2 Tablespoons.
