This Chocolate Rice Pudding is a one-pot treat that comes together in minutes. Creamy milk and sugar are cooked with tender rice and rich cocoa powder until thick and silky. A splash of cream and optional chocolate chips add lush texture, whether you serve it warm or chilled. It’s soothing, chocolatey, and perfect any time you’re craving cozy comfort.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 Serving 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup of Cooked Rice
  • 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2oz (1/4 Cup) Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 4oz (1/2 Cup) Whole Milk
  • 2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder, I prefer Dutch-process
  • 1 Teaspoon Butter

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized pot add all of the ingredients and place on the stove over low-medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce the heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, stir frequently until your desired thickness is achieved.
  2. Turn off the heat and let cool for five minutes then transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate chips. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Notes

  • The longer this rice pudding sits the thicker it will get, you can always loosen it up a bit by adding more liquid, like a splash of milk.
