In a large bowl add the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and mix to combine.

Mix the Butter and Sugars

Then whisk in eggs, vanilla extract, and pumpkin purée.

Add other Wet Ingredients 

Add the flour, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. Gently fold the dry ingredients until just combined then fold in chocolate chunks/chips.

Add the Dry Ingredients

Fold in chocolate chunks/chips until just combined.

Fold in the Chocolate

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Add brown sugar on top, and then bake!
