Salted Caramel Apple Bars

Step 1

In a large bowl combine the flour, salt, and sugar.

Mix dry ingredients 

Using clean hands rub in the cold butter. Rub together with your fingers or a pastry blender.

Make the Crumb

Once combined press ⅔ of the mixture into prepared pan. Use your hands to press into an even layer. Then bake!

Add the oats, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice to the remaining shortbread mixture. Use your hands to rub everything together. Place the bowl into the fridge while you prepare the filling.

In a large bowl place sliced apples, flour, brown sugar, and spices together.

Mix Apples with Dry Ingredients 

Step 5

When the crust is baked let it cool for 5 minutes then place sliced apples in an even layer on top of the crust.

Add the Apple mixture to the baked bars

Step 6

Finally, sprinkle the crumble on top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, the top should be golden brown and the apples bubbling.
